Radiation planning is a central element of both percutaneous radiation and brachytherapy. It is carried out on the basis of a planning CT/MRI with the help of planning software. Numerous data from different data classes are used and generated as part of radiation planning and the subsequent treatment steps: From MRI data to patient-related documents to image data in DICOM and non-DICOM format. Various people such as oncologists, radiotherapists and medical physicists must be able to access this data flexibly.
At present, patient-related data retrieval within individual treatment planning systems is not a problem.
However, difficulties arise when data from different planning systems is available due to working with several forms of therapy, such as afterloading or Cyber Knife, as well as devices. This data can then often only be imported with additional effort and is therefore not immediately usable.
The INFINITT RT PACS software can remedy this situation by integrating and archiving the planning data in a patient-centered manner and thus making it available to all parties involved, regardless of location and time. The vendor-neutral and platform-organized RT PACS solution optimizes the workflow in radiotherapy and leads to significant time savings.
The availability of older planning data can also be restricted without such a software solution, e.g. after a change of planning system, which can make access to old data impossible. To ensure availability even after the system change, the old plans would first have to be backed up. With the INFINITT RT PACS, all data is available long-term and without any problems.
